About the Role

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our team and support our Speech-Language Pathologist in providing high-quality services to individuals with communication disorders in TELEHEALTH and HOMEHEALTH settings. As an SLPA, you will work under the supervision and guidance of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, assisting with assessments, therapy sessions, and administrative tasks. Your role will contribute to the improvement of communication skills and overall well-being of our clients.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field is preferred.

  • Completion of an SLPA training program and minimum of 100 hours of supervised field work experience.

  • Experience working with individuals with communication disorders is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, families, and colleagues.

  • Ability to follow instructions, work under supervision, and implement therapy strategies.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation and record keeping.

  • Proficiency in using relevant technology and software for administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support therapy sessions:

    • Collaborate with the Speech-Language Pathologist in implementing therapy activities and interventions.

    • Help set up therapy materials and equipment.

    • Assist with data collection and progress monitoring during therapy sessions.

  2. Provide one-on-one assistance to clients:

    • Work directly with clients under the supervision of the Speech-Language Pathologist to support their therapy goals.

    • Reinforce skills and strategies introduced by the Speech-Language Pathologist during sessions.

    • Provide feedback and encouragement to clients during therapy activities.

  3. Assist with administrative tasks:

    • Maintain accurate and organized client records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and documentation of therapy sessions.

    • Assist with scheduling and appointment coordination.

    • Help with the preparation and organization of therapy materials and resources.

  4. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team:

    • Communicate and collaborate with other professionals, such as teachers, occupational therapists, and parents, to support clients' overall development.

    • Participate in team meetings to discuss client progress, goals, and strategies.

  5. Stay updated on relevant training and professional development:

    • Engage in professional development activities, workshops, and trainings to expand knowledge and enhance skills in the field of speech-language pathology.

    • Seek guidance and feedback from the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist to support your professional growth as an SLPA.
